  i sometimes did work for a lovely old couple who at times needed repairs done around their home.

  my wife and myself spent time with them, having tea and crackers from time to time.

  one day the husband and myself got into a conversation and he clearly showed himself to be a holocaust denier.

  i figured i'd shut the site down for a couple of hours to encourage everyone to do their xmas shopping.

  the error message was a subtle hint, that's what "500 error" means ... go shopping.. whatever rumours you hear, it definitely wasn't that someone deployed a quick update before going on a 1.5 hour car ride to pick someone up and didn't think that the page they tested, to check it was all working after the update, happened to be cached.

  no siree bob, not that, na hah.. anyway, you're welcome for the extra chance to, erm, shop..

  Why Jehovah's Witnesses are WRONG about Christmas

  as you know (and are probably tired of hearing me repeat), i’m jewish.

  yes, i was a jehovah’s witness when i was a teenager and into my 20s, but returned to my roots and now celebrate chanukah when the holiday season comes around each year.. so why am i writing about christmas?

  well, that’s because i thought i would share something about how jehovah’s witnesses teach against christmas.

  so a few weeks back i getva knock at the door, i could tell they were jw immediately, its always obvious.

  i think its just a regular door knock but at 5.30pm i did think it weird.

  JWdaughter around 1989 or so they stop DA ones who was not baptized. Although this happen to you in the early 80's you may still be DA. The reason I say that is the Borg when they change the rules those who suffered by their old rules remained the same. Very unfair if you ask me. But we are talking about the WT cult.   aluminum was an issue that became a real “tempest in a teapot” for the watchtower.

  it influenced their teaching for almost 50 years and, frankly, created an impression among observers that their members were off-the-wall fanatics.

  for all those years, the golden age and other watchtower publications took the position that aluminum cookware and utensils were one of the great health hazards of the 20th century.

  When I was a child my parents would not allow anything aluminium into the house. They also would not let me get vaccinated. I was told it was poison and could kill me. Besides if I died because of some disease that could have been prevented by a shot I would be resurrected in the new system. My parents where perfect for this cult. Still Totally ADD

  Did you ever think about being persecuted?

  i was introduced to the jw religion at the age of 7. i can't recall when i was taught about having to suffer persecution in the so-called last days, but i do remember thinking that i would crumble under pressure.. as i entered my young adult years, i imagined how governments would persecute us.

  i had thoughts of being tortured for information and then how i would say anything to the torturer just to stop the pain and then be labeled a modern-day judas, missing out on everlasting life.. the jw way of life and expectations are both scary and unrealistic.. i am glad i have canceled armageddon.

  also, if i should ever be tortured for some belief or principle, i shall remain strong until the end.

  What doddle said and more. As a child my first four years in school was a living hell. My teachers abused me beyond belief. Just because my parents were JW and I had to do what they told me. After all if I did't listen I would be killed at Armageddon. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. I think that is why many who are born-ins suffer with some form of PTSD. Then on top of all that I aways felt I would die at Armageddon for being so bad. At this time I was still a small child. Mental abuse from the Borg is unforgivable just as bad as child sexual abuse.   Special Talk During the Meeting Today About the Bad Press in Canada

  i was invited to a congregation in ontario, canada today and as soon as the meeting opened the brother conducting the meeting said there was a very important statement coming from the borg.

  this talk replaced the two last parts of "living as a christian" section.

  he started reading a letter from the borg about how much they loved us.
